Breaking News: Fire breaks out at a workplace in Bağcılar İSTOÇ! Smoke covered the sky
A fire that started in a supply shop at the Istanbul Wholesalers Market (İSTOÇ) in Bağcılar grew rapidly. The fire, which damaged a total of 17 workplaces, was brought under control with difficulty by firefighting crews.
The fire started around 06:30 in a shop selling plastic materials at İSTOÇ, located in the Mahmutbey neighborhood of Bağcılar. According to information obtained, the fire, which started from the electrical system, grew rapidly and spread to adjacent shops.

Upon notification, numerous fire, medical, and police teams were dispatched to the scene. While police teams took security measures in the area, other shops around the burning workplace were evacuated as a precaution. Firefighting crews brought the flames under control after an intervention that lasted approximately 2 hours, and it was learned that a total of 17 shops were damaged.

GOVERNOR GÜL: "17 BUSINESSES DAMAGED"
Istanbul Governor Davut Gül also arrived at the fire zone to conduct inspections. Making statements to journalists, Governor Gül said, "There are 7,200 workplaces here; a disaster was averted by containing this fire to 17 shops of this scale. A total of 17 businesses were damaged. Some of these had their facades damaged, while others, as seen here, had their products inside burned. It is currently under control. Cooling efforts are ongoing."
