Fire at a residential complex in Esenyurt: A woman jumped from the 8th floor!
In a fire that broke out in an 11-story residential complex in the Koza neighborhood of Esenyurt, Istanbul, a 37-year-old woman trying to escape the flames jumped from the 8th floor. The woman, who fell onto an air cushion deployed by firefighters, was seriously injured.
A fire that broke out for reasons yet to be determined on the 8th floor of an 11-story apartment building on Atatürk Boulevard in the Koza neighborhood of Esenyurt, Istanbul, engulfed the entire apartment in a short time.
While local residents who saw the flames rising immediately notified the authorities, numerous fire, medical, and police teams were dispatched to the scene.
37-year-old E.D., who was at home when the fire started, became trapped amidst the flames. Panicked and unsure of what to do, the woman jumped from the 8th floor in a desperate attempt to save her life. E.D., who fell onto an air cushion set up by firefighters in a short time, was seriously injured.
It was learned that the woman, who was transported to Başakşehir Çam and Sakura City Hospital by medical teams after initial intervention at the scene, is still undergoing treatment.
Fire crews brought the fire under complete control and extinguished it after an intense effort lasting approximately one hour. An investigation into the cause of the fire has been initiated.
