He had said 'My mom has no money' while getting into the ambulance: Taken into state protection along with his siblings

In recent days, three children aged 8, 6, and 2, who were left alone in a two-story shanty house in Antalya, were rescued at the last minute during a fire. Upon learning he would be taken to the hospital, one of the children cried to the ambulance crew, saying, "But my mom has no money." Those moments, which could be considered a summary of poverty, were captured on camera.

After being rescued by the intervention of fire crews who arrived at the scene, the children were taken to Antalya City Hospital for health checks. 

The Ministry of Family and Social Services announced that the 3 children who were trapped in a fire in a shanty house in Antalya two days ago have been taken into state protection following the completion of their hospital treatment.

A statement regarding the matter was issued by the Ministry of Family and Social Services.

The statement noted the following:

''The following statement has been deemed necessary regarding the reports in some media outlets titled '3 children returned from the brink of death in a fire in Antalya'. Our 3 children, who are the subject of the reports, were immediately taken under treatment in the hospital following the fire that occurred in their home on January 27, 2025. Following the completion of their treatment processes, all 3 of our children have been taken under state protection." 

That heartbreaking sentence had become a national talking point in Turkey. Images of the house where the children lived once again laid bare the poverty, as it was seen that there was not even a chair to sit on in the living room of the house.
