Horrifying scenes in İzmir: Man holds knife to his 5-year-old child's throat while video calling his wife!
In İzmir, a father who threatened his estranged wife during a video call and held a knife to his 5-year-old child's throat has been apprehended and taken into custody following the public outcry caused by the footage.
Ş.A. (32) called his legally wedded wife F.A., who is in Burdur, via video call and, while hurling threats, held a bread knife to his 5-year-old son's throat.
While the mother, who watched those moments on her phone, experienced horror, the footage caused public outrage on social media.

Users, who tried to report the incident to law enforcement units through numerous shares, posted messages of anger regarding the cruel father. After the footage spread rapidly, it was revealed that the individual named Ş.A. resided in İzmir. İzmir Police Department teams apprehended the cruel father in a short time and took him into custody.
STATEMENT FROM THE İZMİR GOVERNOR'S OFFICE
The İzmir Governor's Office also issued a statement regarding the matter in the evening hours.
The statement said, "The father, Ş.A., who was seen in footage shared on some social media accounts on November 18, 2024, threatening his legally wedded wife F.A., who is in the process of divorce and currently in Burdur, by video calling her and threatening her with their children, has been apprehended in the Karabağlar district of our province, and the couple's two sons have been taken under state protection. Judicial proceedings regarding the suspect Ş.A., who has been taken into custody, are ongoing."
