Warning from Naci Görür following the earthquake in Muğla
A 4.1 magnitude earthquake occurred in the Köyceğiz district of Muğla in the morning hours. Following the earthquake, Prof. Dr. Naci Görür made important statements regarding the tension in the region.
According to data from the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD), the earthquake centered in Köyceğiz occurred at a depth of 12.04 kilometers. This tremor, which took place at 06:40 in the morning, caused brief panic.
Following the earthquake, Prof. Dr. Naci Görür stated in a post on his social media account that the earthquake occurred at the intersection of an unnamed northwest-southeast trending fault on the inland continuation of the Muğla Fault Zone. Görür stated that this region is on a normal fault and that Western Anatolia is being stretched in a north-south direction.
