Woman shot with a long-barreled weapon in Istanbul

In the Mithatpaşa neighborhood of Istanbul's Eyüpsultan district, a woman named Şevval Zeliha Kartal met with İsmail K., Sezai A., and Murat K. on the street.

ARGUMENT BROKE OUT FIRST

The group, sitting by the roadside, began drinking in a grassy area. As the hours passed, an argument broke out between Şevval Zeliha Kartal and İsmail K. for unknown reasons.

WENT TO THE WORKPLACE WAREHOUSE AND GOT HIS WEAPON

As the argument escalated, İsmail K. left his friends and went to his workplace warehouse.

Returning to his friends a short while later, İsmail K. fired at Kartal with a long-barreled weapon. The woman, who was left covered in blood after being hit in the waist, was taken to the hospital by her friend Murat K. in a vehicle.

ATTACKER APPREHENDED, WOMAN REMAINS IN CRITICAL CONDITION

It was learned that Şevval Zeliha Kartal, who is receiving treatment at the hospital, remains in critical condition. Police teams, in their investigation, apprehended İsmail K. at the security booth of the warehouse where he worked, along with the long-barreled weapon he used in the shooting. The attacker, who was taken into custody, was referred to judicial authorities for the crime of 'Intentional Injury' following his processing at the police station.
