Woman who lost her husband and child in the earthquake suffers a second tragedy: Her house burned down, all her savings turned to ash
The home where Uruba Enderun, who lost her husband and child in the earthquake in Hatay, lived with her family was consumed by flames. Enderun, who was left homeless for the second time following the earthquake, saw the family's savings and belongings burn to ash.
Uruba Enderun, 35, who came to Turkey in 2015 due to the civil war in Syria, fled the war and moved to the Altınçay neighborhood of Antakya district to start a new life. Enderun, who was in the Altınçay neighborhood when the February 6 earthquakes centered in Kahramanmaraş struck, lost her husband Abdullah Al Hacji and her son Muhammed Al Hacji, who were trapped under the rubble.

Enderun, whose house was destroyed in the earthquake, moved in with her family along with her daughter Baraa Al Hacji, whom she had rescued from the rubble. While Enderun, who was living in a rented house in the Akasya neighborhood with her family, was downstairs drinking coffee with the landlord, their home was consumed by flames.

As the fire grew rapidly, flames engulfed the house. After those who saw the house burning notified the 112 Emergency Call Center, fire crews were dispatched to the scene and extinguished the blaze. While the house and belongings were rendered unusable in the fire, the money the family had saved also burned. Enderun, who had fled the war in Syria to come to Turkey and lost her husband and child in the earthquake, experienced the second tragedy of her life with this fire.

"MY SISTER'S HOUSE WAS FIRST DESTROYED IN THE EARTHQUAKE, AND NOW IT HAS BURNED DOWN"
Stating that approximately 10,000 TL he had saved by working in construction had burned in the fire, Nureddin Enderun noted that the house was unusable, saying, "We came to Turkey from Syria in 2015. We have been living here for 10 years; we were caught in the earthquake. My sister's husband and son died in the earthquake. After the earthquake, we started living together as a family with my sister and her other child. My sister was sitting downstairs with the landlord, they were drinking coffee. The landlord's relative saw the house was on fire and informed us. The fire crews arrived and extinguished the fire. The house is currently uninhabitable, everything burned. The belongings and blankets, they all burned. About 100,000 TL of money in the house was lost. My 10,000 TL, 100 dollars, rings, gold, clothes, beds, blankets, everything burned. My sister's house was first destroyed in the earthquake, and now it has burned down. I am looking for a rental house to move to. We are saddened by this situation; we couldn't sleep last night."
