1 billion dollar military aid from the US to Israel is on the way

The Israeli army continues its attacks in the Palestinian city of Rafah without slowing down. The humanitarian tragedy in Gaza is being protested in various parts of the world.

The United States (US), one of the countries where protests are taking place, has submitted a package to the relevant congressional committees that includes 1 billion dollars in military aid to Israel.

The US, which has stated that it does not support Israel's ground offensive on the city of Rafah, continues its contacts with the Israeli government.

Furthermore, the Washington administration announced last week that it had delayed some arms shipments due to concerns that they could be used in an operation against Rafah.

HAS THE US REACHED AN AGREEMENT WITH ISRAEL ON 'RAFAH'?

Speaking to Reuters, a US official claimed that Israel had promised the Washington administration that it would not make a 'major move' in Rafah without consulting them.

White House National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan stated in a press briefing on Monday that the military aid planned for Israel within the 26 billion dollar aid package, which was approved with the consent of the US Congress and President Joe Biden, would continue to be provided. The statement from the White House also noted that a 'shipment of bombs was halted' because 'it is believed that these should not be dropped in densely populated areas.'

The US Department of State has submitted the package, which includes 1 billion dollars in new military aid to Israel, to the relevant congressional committees for review.
