180 prisoners exchanged between Russia and Ukraine
A total of 180 prisoners were exchanged between Russia and Ukraine, with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) acting as mediator.
As the war between Russia and Ukraine continues, a new prisoner exchange has taken place between the two countries, mediated by the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
In a statement issued by the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it was announced that 90 Russian soldiers who had been held captive by the Ukrainian side were recovered, stating, “As a result of the negotiations, 90 Russian military personnel, whose lives were in danger, were returned from territories controlled by the Kyiv regime.
In return, 90 Ukrainian prisoners of war were handed over to the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” the statement said.

The statement also noted that the treatment and rehabilitation processes for the recovered Russian soldiers have begun following their transport.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, in his statement, said, “Today, 90 more of our people have returned home from Russian captivity,” and thanked the UAE for undertaking the mediation role.
