WHAT HAPPENED TO THE SUMUD FLOTILLA?
The Global Sumud Flotilla, which set sail to lift the blockade on Gaza and deliver humanitarian aid, had set out into the Mediterranean for the second time in recent days. However, during the journey, it was subjected to an operation by Israeli soldiers off the coast of Crete.
In the operation, where it was stated that approximately 170 activists were detained, 20 ships came under the control of Israeli forces. It is reported that a significant portion of the activists were forcibly taken to Israel and will be deported to their home countries after some time.
In the developments being closely monitored, the Turkish activists in Crete are expected to return home as soon as possible. On the other hand, no new statement has been made regarding the status of Thiago and Saif, who remain under Israeli custody.
