26 killed in Pakistan following Indian missile strikes

The Pakistani military has announced that the number of people who lost their lives in Indian missile strikes has risen to 26, with the number of injured reaching 46.

Director General of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) of the Pakistan Army, Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, stated in a press briefing that the death toll in the areas hit by Indian missiles has risen to 26, and the number of injured has reached 46.

Stating that the missiles fired from India hit many points in the country and damaged mosques and health clinics, Chaudhry noted that 13 people, including women and children, lost their lives and 37 were injured in the missile attack on the Bahawalpur Mosque.

INDIA-PAKISTAN CONFLICT

On May 6, India launched missile strikes on Pakistani territory and the Pakistan-controlled Azad Kashmir region, citing retaliation for a terrorist attack in the Pahalgam region on April 22 that killed 26 people.

While the Indian army stated that it had successfully hit 9 targets it described as "terrorist infrastructure," the Islamabad administration announced that 6 civilian locations were targeted, 8 people including one child lost their lives, 35 people were injured, and 2 people were missing.

The Pakistani military announced that it had shot down 5 fighter jets during the Indian side's attack; the New Delhi administration, however, argued that this was not true.
