33 people lost their lives due to floods in Afghanistan!

Mullah Janan Saeq, spokesperson for the State Ministry for Disaster Management of the interim government of Afghanistan, spoke about the floods that have occurred across the country over the last 3 days.

In his statement to the press, Saeq reported that 33 people have lost their lives and that the casualties were highest in the provinces of Farah, Herat, Zabul, and Kandahar.

Saeq stated that 200 animals have perished, more than 600 houses have been partially damaged or completely destroyed, and 2,000 acres of agricultural land have become unusable.

Stating that there is a possibility of an increase in the loss of life and property due to potential further flooding, Saeq announced that aid teams have been mobilized.

In Afghanistan, floods caused by the melting of snow from the winter months as temperatures rise, combined with heavy rainfall and inadequate infrastructure, lead to increased damage.

Every year, hundreds of people in Afghanistan lose their lives for this reason.
