5 people killed in armed attack in France

In northern France, 5 people, including migrants, have been killed.

According to reports in the national press, it was noted that among the 5 people killed near Dunkirk around 16:00 local time, 2 were migrants and 2 were security personnel. Four of the murders took place in the town of Loon-Plage, and one occurred in the town of Wormhout.

Salome Bahri, a representative for the aid organization "Utopia 56", stated that gunshots were heard at a camp where migrants were staying in Loon-Plage at 16:15 local time.

Bahri stated that she instructed her team to leave the camp area following the gunshots, that the association's staff were evacuated from the region, and that a large number of police, fire, and medical teams arrived at the scene.

It was noted that there were also people injured in the attack at the migrant camp and that medical teams dispatched to the area provided them with initial treatment.

SURRENDERED TO THE GENDARMERIE

The 22-year-old suspect, believed to be the perpetrator of the attack in Loon-Plage, surrendered to the gendarmerie.

While the suspect, who had 3 weapons in his car, is being interrogated, the Dunkirk Public Prosecutor's Office has launched an investigation into the incident.

In the incident in the town of Wormhout, it was reported that the lifeless body of a person who had been shot in the head and various parts of their body was found. While no information was provided regarding the details of the incident, the investigation into the matter is ongoing.
