8 killed as Israeli army bombs 3-story building in Lebanon

According to Lebanon's official news agency NNA, Israeli warplanes targeted a 3-story building in the town of Shamsitar, located in the Baalbek district of eastern Lebanon.

In the Israeli attack, 8 people, including 4 children, lost their lives, while 9 others were injured, with 4 of them in "critical" condition.

Search and rescue operations are ongoing at the site of the targeted building.

In another attack carried out by the Israeli army on a house in the town of Shamsitar, all 5 members of a family, consisting of a mother and her 4 children, had lost their lives.

The Israeli army, which has been engaged in controlled clashes with Hezbollah since October 8, 2023, launched intense airstrikes on September 23 against southern Lebanese cities as well as the Bekaa and Baalbek regions.

The Israeli army also announced on September 30 that it had begun "limited and intense" ground attacks against "Hezbollah's infrastructure" in southern Lebanon.

Israel frequently targets the capital, Beirut, especially the Dahiyeh region, with airstrikes.
