Accusation against Trump's Attorney General nominee Gaetz: 'Paid 2 women for sex'

A new development has emerged regarding Gaetz, who is at the center of controversy due to an ongoing investigation by the U.S. House Ethics Committee.

Speaking to the American CBS News channel, Joel Leppard, the attorney for the two women who testified against Gaetz in the congressional investigation, argued that Gaetz made payments to his clients in exchange for sexual acts.

Leppard stated that the two women, whose names have not been disclosed, provided all the details regarding the accusation in their testimony to the House Ethics Committee and submitted the relevant documents to the committee.

According to this, the two women alleged that between 2017 and January 2019, Gaetz paid them for sex at various events using the application "Venmo," and that the former Congressman also requested illegal drugs.

One of the women who testified before the committee also claimed that she saw Gaetz engage in sexual relations with a 17-year-old minor on one occasion.

Gaetz has denied all of the allegations in question, arguing that the accusations are a "political fabrication by Democrats."

ETHICS COMMITTEE EXPECTED TO MEET TOMORROW

Meanwhile, according to reports in the American media, the House Ethics Committee is expected to meet tomorrow to discuss whether or not to release the report on Gaetz to the public.

Since he resigned from his House membership last week, the Committee no longer has legal jurisdiction over Gaetz; however, it is noted that if the report in question is published, Gaetz's path to the Department of Justice could become difficult.

An investigation was conducted by the Ethics Committee into allegations of "sexual harassment" and "drug use" against Gaetz, whom Trump nominated for Attorney General, and a report was prepared as a result of this investigation.

It has been noted that despite public pressure, Trump has opposed the release of the report in question.
