AFAD personnel set off for Iran
Following reports that the helicopter carrying Iranian President Raisi and his delegation had crashed, 17 AFAD personnel from Van departed for Iran to conduct search and rescue operations.
It was announced that the helicopter convoy of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, who had attended a dam inauguration ceremony on the border of the two countries with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, had crashed on the return journey due to poor weather conditions. Personnel were also dispatched from Van to participate in search and rescue efforts in the region where the accident occurred. The 17 AFAD personnel who deployed from Van in the evening arrived at the Kapıköy Customs Gate.
The teams, which entered through the customs gate, will be assigned to duty in the area where the helicopter crash took place.
