The Transitional Government in Syria has determined the visa fees to be charged for entry into the country. According to the statement, it has been decided that those who wish to travel from Turkey to Syria will pay 150 dollars for a 3-month visa. With this decision, Turkey has been included among the countries that are not exempt from visas.
Countries that are not exempt from visa fees for entry into Syria include Qatar, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey. Those arriving from these countries will be required to pay 150 dollars for a 3-month visa. On the other hand, citizens of Jordan, Lebanon, Malaysia, and Mauritania will not pay any visa fees upon entry into Syria.

CUSTOMS DUTIES ALSO HIGHER FOR TURKEY
The 61-year-old Baath regime in Syria ended with the overthrow of Bashar al-Assad. Following the appointment of Ahmed al-Shara as the head of the new transitional government, reform efforts were initiated in many areas. The change in visa fees was one of the regulations implemented within this scope.
The Shara administration had previously increased customs duties for Turkey by up to 300 percent. This situation occurred as the taxes from the Assad era were maintained by the Syrian National Army (SNA), which took control of the administration.
In contrast, the new government has abolished most of the taxes applied to Arab countries. With this decision, Turkey will pay higher customs duties on exports to Syria than Arab countries.
