Agreement reached between Damascus administration and SDF

The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) have signed a preliminary agreement to integrate into the Syrian army. This agreement includes the incorporation of militants and weapons into the Syrian army, a subject that has been a matter of debate for a long time. This consensus, reached on October 10, is considered a significant development between the parties.

Another key provision of the agreement is the transfer of oil fields in Deir ez-Zor, currently under SDF control, to the Syrian government. This step will shift control of energy resources in the region to the Damascus administration.

On the other hand, SDF leader Mazlum Abdi stated that a withdrawal from Raqqa and Deir ez-Zor is not on the table. Abdi expressed that "Raqqa, Deir ez-Zor, and Hasakah are linked to the future governance system of Syria."
