Airline in the US registers 101-year-old woman as an infant for flight

In the US, a 101-year-old woman was registered as a 2-year-old infant for a flight due to a glitch in the airline's system. The elderly woman commented that the incident was "quite funny."

According to a report by the BBC, 101-year-old retired nurse Patricia, who did not wish to share her last name, experienced issues during a family visit to Michigan because her flight ticket was issued as an infant.

Patricia explained that the American Airlines software could not recognize her birth year of 1922 because it was "too old," and instead interpreted the birth year as 2022.

Stating that she experienced the same situation twice, Patricia said, "I couldn't find a wheelchair at the airport because I was considered a baby and expected to be carried in a lap. I was also made to wait a long time when getting off the plane."

Patricia remarked, "It's quite funny that they think I'm a baby even though I'm an old woman."

Saying that she travels with her daughter due to health issues, Patricia expressed her hope that the software issue would be resolved as soon as possible.

Noting that she will soon be 102 years old, Patricia said, "Maybe then the system will show my correct age."

Meanwhile, the report shared the information that the airline did not respond to questions directed at them.
