Al-Qassam Brigades: 'We have captured a group of Israeli soldiers in the Gaza Strip'

Al-Qassam Spokesperson Abu Obeida stated in a video statement, "Before Saturday evening, Qassam fighters lured Israeli soldiers into a tunnel in the Jabalia Refugee Camp and carried out a complex operation."

Stating that they ambushed a group of Israeli soldiers in one of the tunnels in Jabalia, Abu Obeida noted that there was a clash with the Israeli soldiers at zero distance and that reinforcements were also attacked with explosives.

Abu Obeida said that in the clash with the Israeli soldiers lured into the tunnel, all of them were captured—either killed, wounded, or taken prisoner—and that the soldiers' military equipment was also seized.

FOOTAGE SHARED

During Abu Obeida's speech, footage was shared showing the removal of an Israeli soldier killed during the operation in the tunnel, as well as Israeli military uniforms, helmets, and weapons.

While it was stated that this is the first time Israeli soldiers have been taken prisoner during the ground war that the Israeli army launched in the Gaza Strip on October 27, no information was provided regarding the number of captured soldiers.

On the other hand, Israeli Army Spokesperson Daniel Hagari claimed in a statement on the X social media platform that the announcement regarding the soldiers being taken prisoner was not true.
