Another former Trump advisor sentenced to prison

Former President Donald Trump's former advisor Peter Navarro has been sentenced to four months in prison for 'contempt of Congress' after failing to comply with a subpoena issued by the committee investigating the January 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol.

Navarro stated that he would appeal the sentence and therefore requested that Judge Amit Mehta stay his sentence pending appeal.

Navarro was found guilty on two counts of contempt of Congress last September for failing to comply with subpoenas. Prosecutors had requested that Judge Mehta sentence Navarro to 6 months in prison for each count, to be served concurrently, and impose a $200,000 fine.

PRISON FOR BANNON AS WELL

Former Trump advisor Steve Bannon was also sentenced to 4 months in prison in 2022 after prosecutors had sought a 6-month sentence for "willful defiance and contempt" toward the committee investigating the Capitol attack. Bannon's case is currently in the appeals process.
