Arrogant threat to Turkey from Israeli minister: 'It should be considered an enemy state'

Speaking to a television channel, Israeli Minister of Culture and Sport Miki Zohar made assessments regarding the Sumud Flotilla, which set sail from Turkey and recently approached Israeli waters. Minister Zohar argued that it is no longer possible for Israel to view Turkey as a neutral country.

In his statement, Zohar said, "It is essential that we treat Turkey clearly and unequivocally as an enemy state." This harsh outburst was interpreted as a sign that tensions between Ankara and Tel Aviv could escalate further.

Describing the Sumud Flotilla as a "dangerous provocation planned with the aim of discrediting Israel in the eyes of the world public," Zohar claimed that the responsibility for the organization lies with Turkey. The Israeli minister stated that the purpose of the flotilla was to undermine Israel's international legitimacy, adding, "We understand very well that their goal is likely to eliminate Israel's legitimacy, and what is being done is entirely a lie."

In his remarks containing threats toward Turkey, Zohar said, "We know well how to harm those who harm us; if they want to try, they are welcome to." These words brought to the agenda the possibility that diplomatic tension between the two countries will increase even further in the coming period.
