Asia's new 'capital of the wealthy' is in India: 92 billionaires!
India's Mumbai has claimed the title of Asia's new "capital of the wealthy." With 92 billionaires, Mumbai's economy grew by 7.5 percent in 2023.
Nikkei Asia, citing a report by the Shanghai-based Hurun Research Institute, states that Mumbai has surpassed Beijing, the capital of the People's Republic of China, to become the city with the most billionaires on the Asian continent, with 92.
According to the institute's report, while New York has 119 billionaires and London has 97, Mumbai ranks third globally with 92 billionaires.
CHINA SEES A DECREASE OF 155 BILLIONAIRES
The economy of Mumbai, India, which has a total of 271 billionaires, grew by 7.5 percent in 2023.
While China leads the list with 814 billionaires, it was observed that this number has decreased by 155 compared to 2022.
The US ranks second with 800 billionaires.
TAYLOR SWIFT'S WEALTH ROSE TO 1.2 BILLION
It was noted that Jensen Huang, CEO of the US chip manufacturer Nvidia, entered the top 30 on the list with 48 billion dollars.
A significant increase was also observed in the wealth of the owners of Google, Meta, and Microsoft.
