The White House announced that U.S. President Joe Biden discussed ongoing diplomatic efforts for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip during a phone call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

In a statement released by the White House, it was stated, "President Biden discussed with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu the ongoing diplomatic efforts for a ceasefire and hostage release deal, as well as efforts to de-escalate regional tensions."
It was also noted that U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic presidential nominee, participated in the phone call.
