Biden, Harris, and Trump attend 'September 11' memorial ceremony
U.S. President Joe Biden, Vice President and presidential candidate Kamala Harris, and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump attended the memorial ceremony held in New York for those who lost their lives in the September 11 attacks.
A memorial ceremony was held in New York City on the 23rd anniversary of the terrorist attacks carried out in the U.S. on September 11, 2001, which resulted in the deaths of approximately 3 thousand people.
U.S. President Joe Biden, Vice President and presidential candidate Kamala Harris, former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, former U.S. President and presidential candidate Donald Trump, and vice presidential candidate James David Vance were present at the ceremony held at the site of the National September 11 Memorial & Museum, which was built where the Twin Towers once stood in New York.
Trump and Harris, who faced off last night in their first live televised debate for the presidential election to be held in the country on November 5, shook hands before the ceremony. Both presidential candidates will attend various events to be held throughout the day for those who lost their lives in the September 11 attacks.

APPROXIMATELY 3 THOUSAND PEOPLE LOST THEIR LIVES
On September 11, 2001, two of the four hijacked passenger planes crashed into the Twin Towers, one of New York's iconic structures, while another hijacked plane crashed into the U.S. Department of Defense (Pentagon) building. The last hijacked plane crashed in Pennsylvania before it could reach its target, the government building in the capital, Washington D.C. As a result of the September 11 attacks, 2 thousand 977 people lost their lives, excluding the 19 terrorists who hijacked the planes. Osama bin Laden, the leader of the terrorist organization Al-Qaeda, who was held responsible for the attacks, was killed 10 years later in 2011.
