Biden meets with UAE President Al Nahyan at the White House
US President Joe Biden met with United Arab Emirates (UAE) President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan at the White House.
UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan met with US President Joe Biden at the White House as part of his official visit to Washington DC, the capital of the United States.
In his statement before the meeting, Biden stated that they would discuss ways to de-escalate tensions between Israel and Lebanon, as well as efforts toward a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.

Stating that he has been briefed on the latest developments between Israel and Lebanon, Biden said, “I continue to be in contact with our counterparts, and we are working to de-escalate in a way that allows people to return to their homes safely.”
Al Nahyan, for his part, said he has an “unwavering commitment” to working with the US and deepening the strategic partnership.

Al Nahyan will also hold a separate meeting with Vice President Kamala Harris, who is the Democratic Party's presidential nominee.
