Biden says Israeli government needs to change

At a closed-door fundraising event in Washington, Biden evaluated Israel's attacks on Gaza and the future of the Netanyahu government. According to notes shared by White House correspondents, Biden noted that Israel is beginning to lose the world's support due to its indiscriminate attacks in Gaza.

Describing the Netanyahu government as "the most conservative government in Israel's history," Biden stated that this administration does not support a two-state solution for the resolution of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Biden emphasized that for a long-term solution to the Israeli-Palestinian issue, Netanyahu needs to change and strengthen his government.

Biden, who held a phone call with Netanyahu in the morning, had expressed that Israel needs to be more careful about not targeting civilians in Gaza, while Netanyahu had mentioned that there were disagreements with the US administration regarding the status of the region after the occupation operations in Gaza are completed.

Netanyahu wants permanent occupation

Following his meeting with US President Joe Biden, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu continued to advocate for a permanent occupation in Gaza, contrary to the view of the Washington administration. In a written statement issued by the Israeli Prime Minister's Press Office, Netanyahu referred to the Oslo Accords signed between Palestine and Israel in 1993 and 1995, stating, "I would like to clarify my position; I will not allow Israel to repeat the mistake of Oslo."

The Oslo Accords had brought about the end of Israel's occupation in Gaza in exchange for the agreement. Netanyahu mentioned that there were disagreements with the US administration regarding the status of the region after the occupation operations in Gaza are completed. The Israeli Prime Minister remarked, "I hope we will reach an agreement on this as well."
