U.S. President Biden responded to a question from reporters about the election results in Venezuela as he was leaving the White House.

When asked whether he would support holding new elections in Venezuela, Biden replied, "Yes, I do."

MADURO HAD WON FOR THE THIRD TIME

According to the results announced by the Venezuelan National Electoral Council on July 29, President Nicolas Maduro had won the presidential election for the third time with 51.20 percent of the vote.

Opposition coalition candidate Edmundo Gonzalez and opposition leader Maria Corina Machado had announced that they rejected the election results.

The U.S. administration had stated that they were waiting for the details of the election results in Venezuela to be released and argued that the results in their current form were not credible.
