Biden's Gaza statement sounds like a confession!
In his "State of the Union" address to Congress, US President Joe Biden made a statement that sounded like a confession, saying, "More than 30,000 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza, most of whom were not Hamas members; thousands of innocent women and children have been killed."
US President Joe Biden made assessments regarding the current situation in Gaza during his annual "State of the Union" address to a joint session of Congress.
In the section of his speech concerning Gaza, Biden referred to the October 7 Hamas attack by saying, "Israel has experienced its bloodiest day since the Holocaust," and argued that "Israel has the right to go after Hamas."
A STATEMENT SOUNDING LIKE A CONFESSION
In contrast, Biden noted that Israel also has a responsibility not to target civilians while carrying out its attacks, stating, "This war has taken a greater toll on innocent civilians than all previous wars in Gaza combined. More than 30,000 Palestinians have been killed, and most of them are not Hamas members. Thousands and thousands of women and children have been killed, and boys and girls have been left orphaned."
"ISRAEL MUST DO ITS PART"
Biden also announced that he has instructed the US military to establish a temporary port on the coast of Gaza.
Stating that this temporary port will allow for a higher volume of humanitarian aid to enter Gaza by sea, but that American troops will not set foot in Gaza, Biden said:
"This temporary pier will enable a massive increase in the amount of humanitarian assistance getting into Gaza every day, but Israel must also do its part. Israel must allow more humanitarian aid into Gaza and ensure that humanitarian workers are not caught in the crossfire. I have told this to Israel's leaders. Humanitarian assistance cannot be a secondary consideration or a bargaining chip."
Biden also reiterated once again that the only permanent political solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is a two-state solution.
