Biden's urgent budget request to Congress: We cannot allow Hamas and Putin to win
In an address to the nation from the Oval Office, US President Joe Biden stated that he would request an 'urgent budget' from Congress to support Israel and Ukraine within the framework of US national security needs, declaring, "We cannot allow terrorists like Hamas and dictators like Putin to win."

Pointing out that the events in Palestine bear similarities to those in Ukraine, Biden said that both Hamas and Putin want to 'annihilate their democratic neighbors.'

Biden stated that he would submit an urgent budget request to Congress tomorrow to support partners including Israel and Ukraine. Noting that this would increase Israel's military superiority, Biden said, "We will prevent the conflict from spreading by ensuring that other hostile forces in the region see that Israel is stronger than ever."
"WE CANNOT ABANDON A TWO-STATE SOLUTION"
Touching upon his visit to Israel in his speech, Biden expressed that his country's priority is the safety of US citizens held hostage by Hamas. Sharing the information that 32 US citizens lost their lives in the October 7 Hamas attack, Biden said, "We cannot give up on peace, we cannot abandon a two-state solution."
Stating that his country remains committed to the Palestinian people, Biden expressed deep sadness over the explosion at the hospital in Gaza. Criticizing Hamas for using Palestinians as human shields, Biden pointed out that Hamas does not represent the Palestinian people. Biden also reiterated his belief that the attack was not carried out by Israel.
Stating that efforts to deliver humanitarian aid to Palestinians are ongoing, Biden said, "In my meetings with the leaders of Israel and Egypt yesterday, I secured assurances for the first shipment of humanitarian aid from the United Nations to Palestinians in Gaza."
