The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) announced that search and rescue operations are ongoing for 20 people estimated to be trapped under the rubble.
Maharashtra State Chief Minister Eknath Shinde announced in a statement that financial assistance would be provided to the families of those who died in the incident.
An investigation into the incident has been launched.
