Bloody attack on a train in the UK! 2 detained on suspicion of terrorism
At least 10 people were injured, 9 of them seriously, in a knife attack on passengers on a train in the UK, while 2 people have been detained on suspicion of terrorism.
A major panic occurred yesterday evening on a train passing through the Huntingdon region of the UK. A knife attack was carried out against passengers on a train traveling from Doncaster to London King's Cross at approximately 19:42 local time. The British Transport Police announced that the incident was treated as an emergency following the report received.
TRAIN STOPPED IN EMERGENCY
Immediately after the attack report, the train was stopped at Huntingdon Station under emergency protocols. A large number of ambulances and police were dispatched to the area in a short time. According to initial information, it was announced that a total of 10 people were injured, 9 of them seriously. It was stated that the injured are being treated in hospitals.
COUNTER-TERRORISM INVOLVED: TWO DETAINED
The British Transport Police reported that the investigation into the incident is being conducted with the participation of Counter-Terrorism units. It was stated that 2 suspects considered to be linked to the attack have been detained. Describing the events as a "shocking incident," Police Chief Chris Casey stated, "We are conducting an urgent investigation to determine what happened. It would not be appropriate to speculate on the causes of the incident at this early stage."
SUCCESSIVE STATEMENTS FROM STARMER AND MAHMOOD
UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, in a post on his X account, described the attack as deeply concerning and said, "My thoughts are with everyone affected by the attack. I thank the emergency services for their response."
Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood expressed her deep sadness over the attack and warned against speculating about the incident.
