In a written statement, Deputy Spokesperson for the Afghan administration Hamdullah Fitrat said, "Around 9:00 PM, the Pakistani military regime carried out an airstrike targeting the Omid Addiction Treatment Hospital. As a result of the attack, large sections of the hospital were completely destroyed," while reporting that according to initial assessments, at least 400 people lost their lives and approximately 250 people were injured.

Fire and rescue teams dispatched to the scene have brought the fire under control, and rescue efforts for those trapped under the rubble are ongoing.
