Breaking News... Hopes for a ceasefire in Gaza were short-lived: Israel attacked again!
Following intense diplomatic contacts mediated by Egypt, a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas has been officially signed. The Egyptian press announced that the agreement has entered into force and that a hostage exchange is planned to take place within 72 hours. However, despite the ceasefire coming into effect, Israel continues to bomb Gaza.
Following months of conflict in Gaza, news from diplomatic channels has opened the door to a new era in the region. As a result of negotiations held in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, a ceasefire agreement was officially signed between Israel and Hamas.
The signing process between the parties was completed after long discussions conducted under Egyptian mediation. The Egyptian press announced that the ceasefire had officially entered into force.
HOSTAGE EXCHANGE TO BEGIN WITHIN 72 HOURS
According to the agreement, the hostage exchange is planned to begin within 72 hours. It is stated that the exchange process will be carried out in the presence of international observers.
Officials stated that under the exchange, Israeli hostages held by Hamas would be released, and in return, Palestinian prisoners held in Israeli jails would be set free.
NEGOTIATIONS CONCLUDED IN CAIRO
It was reported that in addition to Egypt, Qatar and the US also provided diplomatic support during the process leading to the ceasefire agreement.
It was learned that during the days of negotiations in Cairo, the parties reached an agreement, particularly on the duration of the ceasefire, the conditions for the hostage exchange, and the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza.
CELEBRATIONS IN TEL AVIV, BOMBS IN GAZA
The ceasefire was met with great enthusiasm in both Gaza and Tel Aviv, but the background was very different.
In the Israeli capital, people took to the streets with flags in their hands. As music played in the streets, people who came out of their homes hugged one another.
In Gaza, Palestinians sang and danced among the ruined buildings. Celebrations were held under the light provided by generators.
However, Israel has not stopped its attacks. Minutes before the signature was placed, Israeli aircraft continued to strike Gaza.
According to the Gaza Ministry of Health, at least 10 people have lost their lives in the last 24 hours. Netanyahu, meanwhile, stated that the "ceasefire has not yet entered into force" until the cabinet meeting to be held at 6 o'clock.
