British minister condemns pro-Palestine demonstrations

UK Home Secretary Suella Braverman made statements following an emergency cabinet meeting (COBRA) chaired by British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak to address the impact of the Israel-Palestine conflict on communities in the UK.

Referring to the marches in London attended by tens of thousands of people following the conflict, Braverman commented, "In my view, there is only one way to describe these marches: they are hate marches."

Braverman indicated that the British government is reviewing laws regarding the demonstrations, stating, "If we need to change the law, as we did last year to prevent protests, I will not hesitate to act."

The UK Home Secretary had also stated in a declaration on October 11 that "waving a Palestinian flag" might not be legal in certain circumstances in the country.

Despite Braverman's statement, demonstrators continue to attend the weekly marches carrying tens of thousands of Palestinian flags.
