Call from Iran to the international community: 'This is a war between professional liars and a proud people'

Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei criticized the attacks by the US and Israel on Iran in harsh terms in a post on his social media account. Addressing the international public, Baghaei called for support for Iran.

Appealing to people committed to common values such as peace, justice, and human dignity, regardless of their religion, ethnic origin, or nationality, Baghaei said, "While Iran and the US were conducting diplomatic negotiations, the US and Israel launched a war of aggression against our country for the second time in less than a year, on February 28, 2026. This is not just a war over land, resources, or geopolitics. This is a war that will define the definition of 'good' and 'evil' in our age and in the future."

Stating that the process Iran is facing is not an ordinary conflict, Baghaei said, "On one side stand those who take pleasure in violating all laws of war and basic human dignity, those who commit murder for entertainment, those who slaughter children to torment their families, and those who fire the latest missiles at women's gyms just to test their destructive power. This is a war between those who boast about torpedoing unarmed ships 'for more fun' and those who make extraordinary efforts to protect innocent lives."

“A STRUGGLE THAT WILL DETERMINE THE FUTURE OF HUMANITY”

Baghaei defined the attacks on Iran as “a struggle between professional liars who manufacture excuses for brutality and a people defending their homeland.”

Saying, "This is a war between professional liars and a proud people," Baghaei assessed, "This is a war between those whose decisions are overshadowed by moral compromises and those who act with a clear conscience. This is a decisive struggle for the future of humanity. It will decide whether the hard-won achievements of civilization, human rights, the rule of law, and basic morality will survive or be wiped away."

“SILENCE IS COMPLICITY IN EVIL”

Continuing his statement with a call to the international community, Baghaei said that humanity must make a choice.

Using the words, "Will we accept a world ruled by modern slave masters who reign through oppression, lies, and extortion, and who are arrogant, tyrannical, and unaccountable? Or will we defend a world based on respect, justice, peace, and human dignity?" Baghaei emphasized that the human conscience has not been completely extinguished.

Baghaei concluded his statement with the following words:

"However, in such times, silence is complicity in evil. If you reject the path of barbarism and domination, find the moral courage to speak up, take action, and stand on the right side of history before the world is dragged into an abyss of lawlessness and captivity. The choice is yours. History will remember what happened."
