In a statement from the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza, it was reported that the death toll in the Gaza Strip, where Israel has been continuing its attacks for 468 days, has risen to 46,788, and the number of injured has reached 110,453. Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani had announced that the agreement would begin to be implemented on Sunday.
The statement, which reported that the Israeli army committed '8 massacres' against Palestinian families in the Gaza Strip in the last 24 hours, stated that 81 people lost their lives in these attacks.
The statement emphasized that 188 Palestinians were injured in the attacks carried out by Israel in the last day.
It was stated that the number of people who have died in the attacks carried out by Israel on the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, has risen to 46,788, and the number of injured has risen to 110,453.
The statement also reiterated that there are still bodies under the rubble and on the roadsides, but health teams and civil defense personnel cannot reach the bodies due to the obstruction by Israeli forces.
CEASEFIRE AGREEMENT BETWEEN ISRAEL AND HAMAS
Qatar, one of the mediating countries, announced on January 15 that an agreement had been reached between Israel and Hamas on a ceasefire and prisoner exchange in Gaza.
The agreement will take effect as of Sunday, January 19. In the first 42 days of the ceasefire agreement, which will consist of 3 phases, 33 Israeli hostages will be released.
The agreement includes the comprehensive delivery of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip as well as the return of displaced Palestinians to their regions.
The details of the second and third phases will be announced upon the completion of the first phase.
