Child deaths in Gaza conflict surpass 20,000

Authorities in Gaza have shared updated data regarding the consequences of Israel's ongoing two-year-long attacks. According to this data, while the number of children killed has surpassed 20,000, the number of women killed has also exceeded 12,500. Due to hunger and malnutrition, 460 people, including 154 children, have lost their lives. Additionally, 17 people, 14 of whom were children, died from freezing due to cold weather conditions. In total, 67,139 Palestinians have lost their lives, and when including those missing, this number has reached 76,639.

Israeli attacks have also targeted health and civil defense personnel. 1,670 health workers and 140 civil defense personnel have lost their lives. Furthermore, 254 journalists have also died in the attacks. Due to food shortages, more than 12,000 pregnant women have suffered miscarriages. As a result of Israel's attacks, 38 hospitals and 96 health centers have either been destroyed or rendered out of service. 197 ambulances and 61 civil defense vehicles have also been targeted.

Educational institutions in Gaza have also suffered severe damage. While 95 percent of schools have been damaged, 668 schools have been directly bombed. 165 schools, universities, and educational institutions have been completely destroyed, while 392 have been partially destroyed. More than 13,500 students, 830 educators, and 193 academics have lost their lives in the attacks. This situation has resulted in 785,000 students being deprived of education.

Infrastructure has also been heavily damaged. While 268,000 housing units have been completely destroyed, 153,000 units have been partially destroyed, and 148,000 units have been severely damaged. 288,000 Palestinian families have been left homeless. Additionally, 725 central water wells and 5,080 kilometers of electrical grid have been destroyed. 247 government buildings, 292 facilities, and 208 archaeological sites have been targeted in the attacks.
