China: We condemn the NATO final declaration

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin emphasized that Beijing categorically rejects the NATO final declaration, stating that it is unacceptable for his country to be described as a 'decisive enabler' of the Russia-Ukraine conflict in the document.

Lin Jian harshly criticized the final declaration adopted at the NATO Washington Summit.

Stating that China deeply condemns and categorically rejects the declaration, Lin said, "China calls on NATO to stop interfering in our country's internal politics, to stop tarnishing our image, and to stop creating chaos in the Asia-Pacific after having created turmoil in Europe."

Lin expressed his reaction by saying, "NATO's 'propaganda about China's responsibility' regarding Ukraine is irrational and malicious."

Stating that his country maintains a fair and objective stance on Ukraine, Lin said that NATO's 'so-called security' is achieved at the expense of the security of other countries.

Lin underscored that NATO is a relic of the Cold War, emphasizing that the Alliance is a product of camp-based confrontation and bloc politics.

The final declaration of the 75th NATO Summit of Heads of State and Government held in the US had been published. In the declaration, China was described as a 'decisive enabler' of Russia's 'war efforts' in Ukraine, and it was claimed that Beijing continues to pose systemic challenges to Euro-Atlantic security.

Previously, the Chinese Embassy in Washington had emphasized that Beijing opposes the mention of the country's name as a threat in NATO documents.

In a statement made to Sputnik by the Chinese Embassy in Washington, it was said, "Voicing the so-called 'China threat' thesis is completely futile. China firmly opposes NATO countries using issues in regional hotspots to smear China and fuel a new Cold War."
