In a statement made by the Japanese Ministry of Defense on August 26, it was reported that a Chinese military "Y-9" type aircraft had entered Japanese airspace off the Danjo Islands in the East China Sea.
The Tokyo administration had announced that this was the first time a Chinese military aircraft had violated its airspace.
It was noted that Japanese fighter jets were scrambled to respond to the aircraft, but the Chinese plane had already left the airspace by that time.
