Condolence Message from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Regarding the Mining Accident in Iran

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a message of condolence for those who lost their lives in an explosion at a coal mine in Iran.

In a written statement regarding the methane gas explosion at a coal mine in the South Khorasan province in eastern Iran, the Ministry noted that it was learned with sadness that a large number of miners lost their lives and were injured in the mining accident in the Tabas district, and that some remain trapped under the rubble.

The statement expressed wishes for God's mercy upon those who lost their lives in the accident and a speedy recovery to the injured, stating, "We offer our condolences to the people of Iran. We hope that those trapped in the mine will be rescued as soon as possible."

It had been reported that 34 people lost their lives as a result of the methane gas explosion at the coal mine in the South Khorasan province in eastern Iran.
