Couple getting married asks guests for 90,000 TL for wedding entry

The globally rising cost of living and high inflation are negatively affecting everyone from 7 to 70. So much so that even couples who want to get married are holding their weddings by incurring very large expenses. In the UK, a couple resorted to an interesting way to get rid of this expense.

According to a report by the Daily Star, a couple named Sophie and Jeff placed a button on the online invitations they sent to guests that directed users to a payment link.

Jack, one of the guests, was stunned to see that the couple was demanding nearly 2,000 pounds (91,000 TL) for entry to their wedding. Moreover, this participation fee did not even include food and beverage service.

Accordingly, guests attending the wedding had to spend an average of 200 pounds more for food in addition to a mandatory 30-pound "venue tip."

While Jack stated that he spent a total of 2,230 pounds (101,000 TL) for his friends' wedding, he realized that the couple had essentially held the wedding for free when he examined the venue costs after the event.

A friend of Jack, who shared what happened on Reddit, was met with reactions from people.
