Court imposes gag order on Donald Trump
A court in the U.S. has once again imposed a "gag order" on former President Donald Trump regarding the fraud case against him.
The New York Appeals Court has imposed a "gag order" for the second time on former U.S. President Donald Trump in the case where he is accused of inflating the value of his companies' assets.
HE IS PREVENTED FROM MAKING PUBLIC STATEMENTS
With this, the "gag order," which had been previously imposed but suspended following his appeal, prevents Trump from making public statements about the staff of Manhattan Supreme Court Judge Arthur Engoron, who is presiding over the case.
WHAT HAD HAPPENED?
In the civil fraud trial regarding real estate that has been ongoing at the Manhattan Supreme Court since October 2, Judge Arthur Engoron had imposed a gag order on Trump regarding court staff following a post he made on his social media account.
On October 3, Trump was fined 15 thousand dollars by Engoron for failing to comply with the "gag order" imposed on him, and his lawyers had applied to the appeals court in New York for an emergency stay of the decision against Trump.
New York state intermediate appeals court Judge David Friedman had suspended the gag order against Trump on November 17.
