Crisis grows in the US: Trump wanted to restrict it, the judiciary said 'stop' for the third time

A federal judge in the US has blocked President Donald Trump's executive order aimed at restricting birthright citizenship for the third time. US District Court Judge Leo Sorokin announced his ruling against Trump's order and prevented its implementation.

On January 20, the day he took office, Trump signed an executive order canceling the regulation that allows children born in the US to automatically acquire citizenship. This order stipulates that a child born to a mother who is in the country illegally cannot obtain birthright citizenship if the father is not a citizen or a green card holder.

Attorneys general from 22 states filed a lawsuit against this decision on January 21. Many federal judges have ruled that this decision by Trump is unconstitutional. Judge Sorokin's latest ruling has once again halted this initiative by Trump.
