Crisis in Hormuz negotiations: Trump unimpressed by Iran's offer

A notable development has occurred regarding the latest offer Iran submitted to the US to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and end the war. According to reports in the US press citing government sources, it is alleged that US President Donald Trump was unimpressed by Iran's offer on the grounds that it did not address Tehran's nuclear program. The report quoted an official as saying about Trump, "He didn't like the offer much."

IRAN HAD SUBMITTED A NEW PROPOSAL TO THE US

Iran had submitted a new proposal to the US to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and end the war, on the condition that negotiations regarding its nuclear program be held at a future date. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed the new proposal, stating that Trump had discussed Iran's offer with his senior national security advisors.

Leavitt stated, "I can confirm that the President met with his national security team this morning. The meeting may or may not still be ongoing. The proposal was being discussed. The President's red lines regarding Iran have been set out very clearly."

Regarding the Iranian proposal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz in exchange for the US ending its blockade, Leavitt said, "I wouldn't say they are evaluating it. I can say there is a discussion."
