Critical Gaza talks between Iran and Egypt

According to Iran's official news agency IRNA, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry held a phone conversation.

AID EFFORTS APPRECIATED

During the meeting, the foreign ministers of Iran and Egypt exchanged views on the latest situation in Gaza. Reminding that Egypt hosted an international meeting regarding the current crisis in Gaza, Amir-Abdollahian expressed his appreciation for Cairo's efforts to stop the conflict and send humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza.

Amir-Abdollahian stated that the Iranian Red Crescent is ready to send humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza via Egypt.

''RESISTANCE HAS BECOME AN OBSTACLE TO THEIR DREAMS''

Stating that Israel's ultimate goal is to "forcibly displace" those living in Gaza and the West Bank to "Egypt's Sinai region and a region in Jordan," Amir-Abdollahian assessed, "In fact, Tel Aviv is trying to establish a Palestinian state outside the historical lands of the Palestinians, but the resistance has become the biggest obstacle to the realization of the Zionists' (Israel's) dreams."

Egyptian Foreign Minister Shoukry, for his part, welcomed Iran's humanitarian aid and emphasized that consultation and coordination between Islamic and Arab countries, including Iran and Egypt, must continue regarding the Palestinian issue.

Shoukry said: "We are against the expansion of the scope of the war and we believe that the Palestinian people should remain on their own lands."

Underlining that "the killing of the Palestinian people must be stopped immediately," the two ministers emphasized the importance of sending humanitarian aid to Palestine and their firm opposition to the policy of forced displacement of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
