Critical statement from Qatar: No direct talks between Iran and the US

The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a new statement regarding the diplomatic processes being conducted between Iran and the US. In the briefing, it was stated that the delegations of the two countries would not hold a direct meeting in Qatar.

NO DIRECT TALKS IN DOHA

A spokesperson for the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that there are no planned high-level direct talks between Iran and the US.

The statement noted that contacts between the parties are being maintained through mediation mechanisms.

US DELEGATION ARRIVES IN DOHA

The ministry announced that US President Donald Trump's representatives, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, have arrived in Doha, the capital of Qatar.

The delegation's visit was evaluated within the scope of diplomatic traffic in the region.

The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson also provided information regarding Iran's frozen assets.

The spokesperson stated, "So far, the 6 billion dollars in frozen Iranian funds have not been transferred to Iran; these funds are subject to the 2023 Agreement and are allocated for the purchase of humanitarian aid supplies."

STRAIT OF HORMUZ AND SECURITY COORDINATION

The Qatari side reported that efforts are being carried out in coordination with Oman to ensure the safe passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz.
