Death toll rises in Iran protests! Number of casualties and detainees announced
HRANA has announced that the death toll in the protests, which began across Iran due to economic reasons, has exceeded 4,000, while the number of detainees has surpassed 26,000.
The US-based Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA) has shared new data regarding the demonstrations triggered by economic hardships in Iran. The organization reported that the number of people who lost their lives in the protests has risen to 4,029.
DETENTIONS EXCEED 26 THOUSAND
According to information provided by HRANA, 26,015 people have been detained in connection with incidents occurring in various cities across the country. It was stated that a total of 4,029 people, including 180 security personnel, lost their lives during the demonstrations. In a report shared the previous day, the agency had announced the death toll as 3,919.
OFFICIAL AUTHORITIES REMAIN SILENT
While it is stated that the protests in Iran have largely subsided, HRANA, headquartered in the US state of Virginia, announced that it continues to update the figures as new cases are verified. Iranian authorities have not made a comprehensive official statement regarding the number of dead and injured. In previous statements, it was reported that over 3,700 security personnel were injured and 3,000 people alleged to have incited the events were detained.
