Myanmar has been shaken by two major earthquakes occurring in succession. According to initial reports, 694 people have lost their lives and more than 1,670 have been injured in the 7.7 and 6.4 magnitude earthquakes that struck the country.

In a statement issued by the military administration's information team, it was reported that 68 people are missing due to the earthquakes. The epicenter of the earthquake was identified as the Sagaing region in central Myanmar.
