In a written statement issued by the Armed Forces, it was reported that the French soldiers stationed in the country, along with their logistical equipment, will depart from Niger no later than December 22.

The statement noted that as of yesterday, 1,346 of the approximately 1,500 soldiers stationed in the country had already left Niger, and the remaining 157 soldiers would depart by the specified date.

DEMANDED THE DEPARTURE OF SOLDIERS

The military administration that seized power in Niger on July 26 had terminated military agreements with France and demanded the departure of French soldiers from the country.

Following this, French President Emmanuel Macron had announced that French troops would completely withdraw from the country starting in October and finishing by the end of the year.
